Honestly, why do I even bother with the internet anymore? Why do I even care? I guess on some level I want to be useful in some way. I guess I want to make something nice and useful that people can use and benefit from. But time and time I am denied because of the stupidity and ignorance that is prevalent in the world.

A few months ago I re-built my website using Yellow. A tiny stupid CMS with no marketshare. I thought it was fun and interesting to not use WordPress for once. To do something different for a change. I thought I could contribute to their user base.

While building my site I made a custom theme for myself. I've also created three plugins. These plugins I shared through Github for free. Like everyone else who makes plugins I announced them on their discussion board on Github.
From one of the moderators I got some tips for better listing the plugins and even got some positive feedback from a user who liked the Tag Cloud I made. Another person commented on my theme, saying he thought it was beautiful. It felt like I was off to a good start.

Then last month I noticed that suddenly their whole discussion board was re-organized and that the topics for my plugins had been removed. Quietly deleted without any notification as to why. I also noticed that the 2 or 3 topics I created to ask questions had been rewritten and their titles changed without my knowledge.
They changed the title to be some generic format and reformatted my posts into uninspiring slob. No doubt to conform with some non-descript standard since their whole discussion board looks all samey, boring and stupid now.

When I finally asked about it this morning I learned that the devs and especially Anna, the maintainer are a bunch of dicks pretty much.

We have decided to no longer work with you and wish you the best of luck for your future.

And she banned me from posting on the discussion board. What the hell kind of response is that?

I don't work for them. I don't work with them or even alongside them. She and I never spoke. I just made a few plugins and asked a few questions. If they disagreed with my plugins, the code in it, or anything, why not just message me and be mature about it. They could've simply have replied to the topics I created telling me that they won't include my plugins in their next release or something. But no, they did none of that and I have no knowledge of any wrong-doing. Or any doing, since I barely ever visited the discussion board anyway.

So really, what the fuck is that about? This is yet another reason I should be less inclined to lend my skills, time, effort, whatever, to anyone online for free, to any project or community. There is simply no reward in it, just frustrations and time wasting.

For some reason this upsets me greatly, and I'm not sure why!
