This week we’ve painted the bedroom in apartment 2. It’s all crisp looking and cotton white now. Neat! Last week the bedframes got delivered and my mom painted a couple of those already.
In the Mexican heat, the bedroom paint dried in less than an hour, and we put the bed and mattress in there. It looks like a home now. My home!
I also learned a bit more about north American electrical systems and split phase balancing - Damn guys your electrical system sucks! I had to re-arrange the breaker groups a bit and add in another breaker to split up a larger group in each apartment to spread the load, and better use the 220v main breakers.
And now we’re floating the idea to break contract on the rental house and move into the two apartments early. Saving a bit of rent. But we probably loose the deposit, and then it might not be worth it? I guess I have to check the contract terms…
Anyway, apartment 1 and 2 are ready enough that they’re pretty much livable now. Just add internet and personal belongings. Woohoo!
