The floor exploded
Today I was working in my appartment building. Fully set on continuing to fix the electrics in apartment 3. While preparing the required wire pairs I noticed that the floor was moving. Now I'm not a building expert, but concrete floors should not move. Pressing on it with my foot revealed that the concrete was probably fine but the tiling was coming up.
Since I was focussed on finishing the 30A breaker group, I decided to ignore it at first and investigate later. But about 20-30 minutes later 5 tiles snapped in half and I had to scramble to find a hammer and chisel to prevent further damage. And so I spent the next hour cursing and breaking tiles so that the ones bulging up would not rip out the rest as well. I ended up removing about 15 floor tiles before the remaining bits of floor finally settled.
What the fuck!
And in the middle of the living room too! So now I have to re-do the tiles in the living room too. A few more are loose and need removing, but all in all about half of the floor can probably be saved. The renovation jobs keep piling up, and so do the costs for ready-ing the building. What a shit-show!
In other news, I did manage to pull the new, thicker wires for the airconditioner and water heater to where they needed to go. But also here, whoever build this building screwed up the conduit in the wall or something, so the other wires for the regular power outlet wouldn't go through. There barely was enough space for the 30 Amps stuff.
